You can use Skype to get phone numbers, I tried them and they work

Skype is the best alternative right now.
 
There are services on here that sell usa numbers , Google voice numbers , etc
 
You can rent real USA nr. For a day, week or month.
Search on darknet (telegram).

Yes, Numero eSIM( its an mobile application available on both app store and play store) they offer virtual phone numbers, including US numbers, for calls and messages. It can be a good alternative to Google Voice for obtaining a US number even if you're not a US resident. You can use it for various purposes like messaging, calling, and verification services.
They charge nominal fees for their service, i have been using it for 2-3 years now.

I use OpenPhone app, the cost is $30/month and you can receive messages and calls. However need to register a US carrier if you want to send messages and make calls, that's the only downside.
 
Sign up for skype and you can rent a US phone number for long-term use from there. Or you can use Google Voice to save costs (Buy a Google Voice account from a seller to use). However, currently, due to the Google Voice policy for Americans only, your account can be locked at any time.
