[HOW TO] Free SSL & WordPress website

Sorry about bumping this thread, but there's an issue that I think everyone should know about with the free SSL from Cloudflare. I tested 10 different websites using the free SSL from Cloudflare and a few client-owned websites that were using the paid version, and what I noticed is that I was unable to run these free SSL websites through Copyscape, smallseotools, or any other similar website (this resulted in an "incorrect URL" error), however the paid Cloudflare websites seemed to work with the tools just fine. This issue doesn't seem to affect anything else, although I just thought that everyone should be aware of it if they're facing the same issues.

That happened to me at first when I was trying to set up the Https on my sites. I think the issue resolves itself after a few hours of enabling Https (assuming that what you're doing).

You may need to add those websites to your whitelist?

All right, so I checked my firewall IP address and saw that I selected the whitelist option for the website's and tools in a previous attempt to get them to work, so what I did was I blocked the IP address to Plagspotter and now I'm able to use that tool now (but only if I enter the URL as "HTTP" and not "HTTPS").

Thanks for your help, though! :)

Firstly OP - this is a great share, thank you so much. I followed your detailed instructions and it worked great.

I do have 1 question however, perhaps someone else has had this issue. When I access my site it has "https", however the padlock has the yellow caution triangle over it... any ideas on how to get rid of this?

Hi, and thank you for the guide. I got some problems though. The padlock won't show and Google Chrome are now warning the visitor to show my website. I ran the test you recommended (Whynopadlock.com) and it says "SSL verification issue (Possibly mis-matched URL or bad intermediate cert.). Details:
ERROR: no certificate subject alternative name matches"

Have tried back and forth for a couple of hours now, and don't really know where to go from here. Would be greatly thankful for any help.
