How to force people to watch a video?

To the Great men on BHW,
Hey guys I have a site and I want to force people to watch a short video that I have put together before they can start accessing the content of my site. I want it to be similar to the commercials you might see, when like the site goes dark and you have to watch a video for like 30 seconds before the site unlocks or whatever. I want a similar effect but I want my video that explains my site to be shown when someone visits my url. Any tools on the web for doing this sort of thing?? Any suggestions could be helpful.

Why not make the video compelling enough so you don't need to "force" anything? You're a marketer right? Capture their attention in the first 5-10 seconds and they'll watch the rest willingly.

What an odd concept. I wonder if anyone has tried this?
 
Personally I thought the duct tape and razors was a great approach but yes I wonder if any has ever made a compelling video? Hmmmm I am gonna do that later and see what happens
 
Trap them in an elevator, and then play it on the screen there?
 
Get custom content locker. Also have a look at wplocked. I remember it can do when you want. Even if it won't you can easily customize it.
 
show an "undressing & insertion" being done... :) insert/continue the clip randomly in the main video...
Raise the viewer's (interest; I don't know if that apostrophe is reqd. or not) to the highest level...

hire a great model, increase overall clarity, tell viewers "what's in it for THEM"...
 
Since there isn't a legit answer to your question, I'll add my 2c.
1) Set up a flash video player like JW
2) Make the page with the video your homepage. Hide player controls.
3) Most video players have javascript callbacks. You can have your javascript function triggered when the video ends.
4) Your function would do a redirect to your main site and cookie the visitor so they don't have to watch the video again.

Let me know which player you end up using and I could point you in the right direction.
 
Embed the video and code in an auto play function.

I tried to find you a piece of code but couldn't,

Have a quick hunt on the forum it's there.
