I’ve heard that Reddit is a goldmine for viral content ideas before they blow up on other platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter. I want to use it for content creation, but I’m not sure where to start.

  • Which subreddits are best for spotting viral trends early?
  • Are there any tools to track trending Reddit posts automatically?
  • How do you turn Reddit discussions into viral content for blogs, YouTube, or social media?
  • Any tips to avoid getting banned when using Reddit for research or traffic?

Would love to hear from anyone who’s successfully used Reddit for trendspotting and content creation!

I thought you were talking about a website named Reddit Trends, but if you scrape historical threads (like from 2010-2020) from Pushshift and then train an LLM on it somehow then you could extract some ideas.

You need to do a research on your specific niche to figure out what trendies, memes and subjects are generating more engagement

wanna learn trends study humans, not the niche

And you'll find a plethora of ideas like why am I not sleeping right now.

I recommend using r/OutOfTheLoop and r/AskReddit to find viral ideas before they go mainstream.

Reddit is definitely a goldmine for spotting viral trends early subreddits like r/Trending, r/AskReddit, and niche communities related to your industry are great places to start. Tools like Reddit Insight or TrendSpider can help track trending posts automatically. To turn discussions into content, look for engaging stories or hot takes and repurpose them into blog posts, videos, or tweets. Just avoid spammy behavior when researching or promoting, as Reddit is quick to ban accounts that seem inauthentic.

Find recurring themes, questions, or strong opinions. Don't just rehash. Add your unique perspective, expand on the points made, or provide further context. Frame it as "what Reddit is saying about X" and then build on that. A compelling blog post, video script, or social thread can come from it.

Reddit often reveals viral trends before they spread elsewhere, and you can find great ideas on r/AskReddit and similar subreddits.

Follow trending and niche subs, use tools like Track reddit, turn top discussions into content. and follow rules to avoid bans.

Reddit is a great source of inspiration if you know where to look. Subreddits like r/Askreddit, r/Outoftheloop, and niche specific communities often surface viral ideas before they hit mainstream platforms. I usually check the rising section instead of hot to catch fresh discussions. For automation, setting up keyword alerts using tools like IFTTT or even just using google trends alongside reddit works well. Just be careful not to self promote or drop links reddit is strict about that. Instead use it mainly for research and content inspiration, then build your content off platform with your own spin.

Check subreddits like r/Trending, r/AskReddit, and r/InternetIsBeautiful - they often spark viral ideas. Use tools like Treendly or BuzzSumo to track topics early.
