You can do keywords research. By researching keywords, you can find a competitive keyword.

I suppose you meant to find the competitors. Install seoquake addon for your browser, goto google, search for your keyword and get the details of your competitors in the searches.

If you meant competition, use market samurai or google adwords keyword tool, hope thats simple.
