Hello everyone,

I'm back with another guide following on from my popular how I went from $0 - $XXX revenue with CPA https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/h...marketing-in-2020-2021.1299114/#post-14014271

BHW seems to not have as much content on CPA compared to the other threads and this is definitely an area where I can fill the gap :)

Common questions that I received on my last post and also saw in other threads was "How do I pick the right offer?".

Here is a simple process that you can use to find the right offer and make more money more quickly.

To use this process you will need the following at minimum:

  • Tracker e.g. Bemob or Kintura (both free)
  • Traffic Source - A Pop or Push traffic source e.g. Propeller Ads
  • Affiliate Network - A place to find offers > I recommend Monetizer & Mobidea
The process is split into finding the offer and testing the offer.

Finding the right offer

In an ideal world you would message your affiliate manager and they would provide a spreadsheet that contains the best performing offers.

The reality is if you're new affiliate managers don't care about you and aren't willing to give you this information. They aren't being mean either lol they just have 1000's of affiliates who come and go trying to make "sIx fIgUr£s iN ! MoNtH" so they focus their efforts on proven affiliates who make them money.

Who can blame them?

So as a new affiliate what do you do?

Focus on affiliate networks that provide you with the data upfront.

At the moment the two I recommend and have personally used are Monetizer and Mobidea.

Monetizer
  • In monetizer you go into: "Insights" > "Inspire" then eCPM will show you what carrier offers are making the most money per impression
  • Once you do that, check the CPM of your traffic source and see if it's less than the earnings in Monetizer
  • If the CPM numbers make sense look for offers that are targeting the most profitable carriers and test them

Mobidea
  • Mobidea have recently changed their system so that newbies can only view smartlinks data. I would recommend you get access to Offers access as they are far more profitable for you in the long run.
  • Then look at the "opportunities" > then "offers"

I've also heard good things about "iMonetizeit" & "Mobipium" but haven't used them personally. CPAlead offers real time data too but I would not recommend it. Threads on BHW share that they shave leads and my personal experience would confirm this.

What makes a good offer?

  • High quantity of conversions (ideally 50+) with a good conversion rate e.g. 2%
  • The offer is doing well recently e.g. last 7 days so it hasn't been saturated by other affiliates yet
  • Check it is also in spy tools as if other affiliates are making money off it - you probably can too
  • In my example picture above you can see that South Africa's conversion rate was 1% overall. But if you drill down you can see that the iPhone offer has a higher conversion rate of 3.46% with 68 sign ups. That would make it a potential good offer to test.

Spy tools

  • There are free spy tools that aren't the best but can help you a little: Visto & AdspyHub for Facebook and push.cpa.rip / affbank spy tool for push
  • The main ones I'd recommend are: Push: Anstrex, PPV: Adplexity Mobile and Facebook: Adspy (paid edition)

Testing the offer

  • Once you have chosen multiple offers with potential that: target the most profitable carriers/devices, are seen in spy tools and are doing well in the last 7 days it's time to test

How much should I spend on the test?

  • x10 the payout so if the payout is $2 you should spend $20 and measure your results
  • If you get -50% to -35% ROI after your first test then make tweaks and re-run the campaign. Otherwise cut your losses & try a different offer
  • It's very important you get set up with a tracker to ensure you're tracking this accurately

Turning offer tests into profits

  • Once you get an offer that has potential e.g. -50% ROI after your first test it's time to tweak and make money!
  • This is done by "pruning" a.k.a removing unprofitable segments of your ads
  • You first start at "Zone ID's" which are the different websites that your ad is being posted on by the traffic network
  • Once you've removed unprofitable zones you can focus on other areas using your tracker. The places I'd recommend you start with:
    • Creatives (you should test at least 3 adverts if you're running push and remove the ones performing badly)
    • Browser e.g. safari vs chrome
    • Carrier e.g. Vodafone or T-Mobile
    • Connection type e.g. Wi-fi vs 3G
    • Time of day
    • Landing page (if you're running push traffic you should use be testing at least 2 different landing pages)

Don't give up and be consistent!

Even though affiliate marketing is very simple in theory it's difficult in practice. This is because of the large learning curve and overwhelming amount of information from so many sources trying to sell you something. With that said the way people go from 0 - $$$$$$$$ is by constantly testing offers until you find a winner.

I personally tested 2 campaigns a day for about 3 weeks before I got my first profitable campaign. Shiny object syndrome won't help you and will just confuse you more.

As a result you should research the different options and focus on what you think will work for you. With that said if you're a beginner I'd strongly recommend PPV and CPA offers to learn and master the basics before you decide if you want to branch out and try something else.

I use the attached spreadsheet in order to automatically calculate whether offers have a good chance of being profitable based on the conversion rate and payout. This isn't a silver bullet and the best way to learn what works is by your own experience but hopefully this helps someone out!

Wishing you success,

BKL

Mobidea provides upfront data, which is good. But as a CPA network, it's not a good choice in the long run. Though, it's easier for freshmen to get accepted.

thanks for the great share, but i want to ask you, with your experience what is the best kind of offers that convert well with google ads. thank in advance.

Love this thank you so much!

Wow thanks a lot! How long have you been doing this?

No worries! Couple of years now, so thought I’d share the basics :) it’s hard to find this type of info all in one place for free

Mobidea provides upfront data, which is good. But as a CPA network, it's not a good choice in the long run. Though, it's easier for freshmen to get accepted.

Agreed. This is a beginner friendly guide, feel free to add any other recommendations!

thanks for the great share, but i want to ask you, with your experience what is the best kind of offers that convert well with google ads. thank in advance.

I don’t have much experience in google ads!

Based on what I’ve seen from others whitehat lead gen offers are the way to go as they’re strict on what they’ll allow.

Things like migrate to Canada or higher education courses.

Don’t take my word for it though, find a pro & ask them :)

Love this thank you so much!

Glad you enjoyed the post!

Hey @benkingldn, thanks for the in depth guide, this is really valuable information for a newbie like me. Also can you please pm me about getting paid spy tools for cheaper as I can't pm yet.

Killer write up, mate
I haven't personally attempted CPA before.
This makes sense.

Thanks for your great share. Regarding your suggestion on choosing Propeller ads for traffic source, do you have any tips to get pass the VAT number as at the moment I dont have any VAT number so I have to pay more for the traffic.

Beside the quality traffic source "Propeller ads", What do you think about other ones such as Evadav and Adsterra? Are they both good for testing and scaling?

we have good enough traffic and many are happy with it

Nice guide!
Propeller Ads were based a lot on here though, any other traffic sources you can recommend?

Thanks man, glad you liked it.

Only way passed it is to get someone with ID outside of the EU to sign up.

I knew someone selling outside EU zeropark accounts but it was €500 as they added funds and didn’t need it anymore. You may be able to find someone doing it on BHW too.

I don’t have experience on those traffic sources so can’t comment. I usually scale with Zeropark

Thanks!

For alternatives that I have personally used: “Popcash” for ppv (low deposit but quality isn’t as good as propeller ads, interface is nice though)

“Zeropark” for push & PPV but it’s expensive $200 minimum spend. Also takes longer to find profitable zones as it has so much volume.

“Advertiser” they’ve got a cool pay per acquisition feature for push too.

Ones I haven’t used: Evadav, Datspush ($50 min spend) PopAds, Admaven, RTX, ClickAdu.

A google search will give you even more :)

Nice post.
Theres are not many CPA threads because lot of people burn money and end up with -tive roi campaigns.
Question for you:
How much money did you burn before have a +tive roi campaign (for lack of a better word)?

Thank you! That makes sense - with that said whatever strategy you use to create an income you’ll pay for it with either time or cash.

It personally took me $250 before I began to consistently create profitable campaigns.

For some people it will be more, others less.

Depends on your current skill level/ talent :)
