My client wants me to grab a bunch of his #1 competitors keywords, I know there is a way to find out that information but not sure how to look that up. Anyone know how I can get that info?

I'd start by going to Adwords and putting their URL in the "Website" box and see what comes up.

Try http://www.spyfu.com/.

To be honest, if my client told me that, I would tell them that would be a complete waste of time, unless he/she was trying to win a pissing contest against their competitor. Instead of trying to find an already existing keyword list, generate a targeted keyword list of the highest revenue generating keywords for your clients product/service. The odds are that the search terms his/her competitor are targeting only have a handful of searches per month with very little revenue.

It's not hard to find the keywords that bring in the highest amount of revenue for products. Simply use Google's keyword tool, find the related keywords for the product/service your client is selling, and sort them by the highest CPC. I normally don't even add kewyords to my keyword lists unless the average CPC is $0.15-0.50 per click. Any keywords with average bids below that tells me that no one is making money on those keywords and hence are not worth the time going after.

Of course, I would be able to give better advice if I knew what type of product your client was offering. For example, a online product, a local service, a digital product, etc. all have different strategies.

SEMrush is my vote. Get it free for a week (might get you the data you need)

If you just need a one-off report then send me a pm or skype me at BHW name and I'll send you one over from my sub.

SEO Powersuite's rank tracker (free version does a great job for me), just enter the url, it will grab the keywords. Also semrush and sequake plug-in is great to extract keywords. In addition to all these, I would also do a backlinks analysis with ahrefs and look at the anchor texts as well.

Try using the clients website in Google Adword tool and then competitors website.

Forgot to mention http://www.rankw.com. It has few great analysis tools i.e. keyword extraction, traffic analysis, site value, search traffic analysis etc. gives an overall idea about a website!

Hello,

Quite curious but do any of you know any tools that cater sites of Asian origin e.g. Japan, Korea, China... I seem to be having a hard time finding seo tools that cater to Asian sites.

Thanks.

I never see all these sites find all keywords, usually they found about 50%. I tried my own sites I running in adwords just to see how these services work.

anybody can recommend a tool for european adwords ?

Hi, I use a powerful keyword competition checker tool - KeywordCompeting to find competitors adwords keywords and check keyword competition. It can find profitable keywords your competitors are using, generate thousands of new keywords instantly, and spy on your competitors' PPC and SEO campaigns in Google, Bing, and Yahoo. I like Keyword Competing very much, because it is very simple to use, flexible and fast!!
