Sure, I can fork out some money for MagesticSEO and do a backlink check. But what about doing it for free or using some other lower cost tools?

I have ScrapeBox and there is a backlink plugin you can add, but its not working for me. I just get an error.

So, you have targetsite.com and you want to find its backlinks. What do you do?

Thanks,

Jon

jon...please stop using scrapebox your gonna mess up your url and your stuck with ahrefs, opensiteexplorer, and majesticseo. This internet is massive....I mean MASSIVE. Spiders take awhile to crawl the internet so it will take a minute for your terrible backlinks to show up. Trust me don't use scrapebox....

I've been using SEIntelligence to get my competitors backlinks. It is a nice software however, it is important for you to know what are you looking for. Even if you are able to get the backlinks, there's another step to take to benchmark your competitor's campaign. I think that the best backlinking campaigns are done part manual part automated with a deep research if you want your money site to rank.

If you want to do manual linkbuilding without any programs create high quality web 2.0's Stick with high PR.
(blogspot,jimdo,tumblr,wordpress,etc..) Add relevant youtube videos and images. Start to build backlinks to them you can be much more aggresive with this doing automated stuff and buying fivver gigs or stuff here You are not worried about getting penalized.
Make them high quality add 3 articles to every web 2.0 make 1 article link to an other web2.0 you have, 1 article have a backlink to a high authority website in your niche or something like wikepedia make shure iits not a direct competitor obviously. Leave 1 article with no link. After a week or 2 af it having been indexed I add my backlink usualy in sidebar and build more backlinks. I usualy see great increase in rankings depending or the keyword.

I think manual link building is better even though it may cost you more time. Plus isn't link building with software considered bad in the eyes of Google?

Hello Jon,

there are lots of free tool for backlinks check. Just to name a few: BackLink Watch, Analyze Backlinks, Link Diagnosis, etc.

WebMeUp also has a totally free Backlink Tool that fetches backlink data from its own multi-billion backlink index and provides detailed SEO analysis of each found link.

Just wanted to let you know that I can't access your site using mobile Opera. None of your content is loading. I'm going to check it out of my laptop later. Just thought you may want to know.

Here some free backlink tools though some have limited daily usage but you can swap to another if one is exhausted for the day.

If you are not into SEO business then it's pointless to waste money on such tools, i would rather buy aged domain and convert to BL to my site..
