How to find a really experienced and highly skilled web dev team?

I generally work with the people whom I know from the times when we were all involved in some open source projects. In a sense I was lucky to meet them. Otherwise, good team is very hard to find, and since those people are already well paid, the prices will start from about $60/hour.

Let me chime in with some real world experience. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on "development teams" and they have been crap. Then I assembled my own team....hand selecting the best for each position, and creating an all-star team.

There are many sources that advertise their "team" - run, because if it was truly that easy everyone would have a "team" - you will need to interview, scout, review, and evaluate each potential team member. Put in the extra time and work now - because once you do have that well oiled machine on your side then you become unstoppable and any project you can think up can suddenly be brought to life!

Also...as some mentioned above...get ready for "real world" prices...some of the $99 complete sites on BHW are a false sense of reality. To give an example, my mother runs a publishing company and their redesign/rebranding was over $1 million.

Without a doubt some of the best advice in this entire thread.

It's easy to find a good team, but it usually costs a lot of money. Finding a good team for modest amount of money, now that's a challenge.

Thanks guys, I'm really glad to hear all your opinions here! Made some notes and already started scouting Meanwhile I also need to take care of my PPC campaigns I'm running at the moment so I need to be doing both (now it's time for me to train my time management skills I guess huh?)

dont know man, i wasnt interested that much in that thing, i just wanted to know where to find the good ones (not the scammy and/or amateurs)
