    Hi,

I was wondering if anybody knows how I could fake Google as the referrer to my web page, so that in the keywords section it also showed certain keywords in Analytics that I wanted to display. Is this easy to do? Is it as simple as knowing what URL to send as the referrer or are there other things to take into account that Google look for to stop you doing this?

Pretty sure this can't be done in any meaningful way.
Not in a way that would fool Google into thinking they referred you when they didn't, or Google analytics. Not even sure on site analytics would fall for it these days as Google now encrypts every search.

Google hides everything. They like the ideas of their advertisers chucking money into the black hole of "no information" and praying they good results.

Thanks for your reply. It can definitely be done thought. Sites like fakethereferrer and spoofr both somehow seem able to do it (I've tested fakethereferrer and it definitely works).

You can do it to fake a users internal referrer logs but you cannot trick google into thinking it is giving you more traffic than what is really coming from google if that is what you are asking.

Basically I just want it to show up in Google Analytics as having come from Google and under the keywords section to show whatever keywords I want it to. I used fakethereferrer's demo the other day and it came up like the image below (I used the keywords 'This is from Google' as an example). This is what I'm looking for, only I don't want to pay money to a website for the privilege

Thanks to the person who sent me a PM but I'm a new user and it won't let me respond to a PM until I've made at least 15 posts. So I'll reply then!

If you know how to do what you asked for, please share with us. I'm interested in this as well.

It can be done..I used to do it and it would show up in my Blogger blog as Google and show what keyword was searched..I haven't messed around with it for awhile but I know it can be done. You need to play around with the referral URL a little then have a program with user agents and proxy support.I think there is a bot shared here that has user agents..

There's another way too but we are not aloud to talk about that on here anymore.

I used to use that method to drop my Alexa rank.

Thanks. I have found a useful Chinese program called Jingling which I can use for proxy support and user agents, and also to spoof referrers. I just don't know how to use this to show up particular keywords and to fool Google Analytics into showing the referrer as Google.

I've got to say, I'm very intrigued to find out what the other way that we're not allowed to talk about is. Are you even allowed to give any hints? :)

So basically you want to fake your analytics so you can sell it on FLippa pretending you got tons of keyword traffic from Google ...
As Scritty pointed out most searches are encrypted now so unless you also fake 1 million visits it will just look fake with not provided not getting a big/biggest chunk of your traffic

I can see why you might assume this but no, I'm not trying to flip my site at all. Literally all I want is for my stats in GA to show Google referred hits for specific keywords as and when I want them to.

It used to be something like this from search...
    Code:
    [URL]http://www.google.com/?q=search%20term&hl=en[/URL]
but its https now and anyway I doubt this would fool google anaytics only 3rd party trackers.

If you're not trying to flip your site, you're probably trying to prove to some employer or client that you actually can get them traffic for various keywords, when you in-fact, can't. Its still fraud.

    That's what I meant.

Google can't be tricked into thinking it gave you traffic it didn't. It encrypts every search term these days and records at the time.
This search encryption is relatively new (a few months) tools that faked referrers earlier this year or before will no longer work - at least as far as fooling Google goes. Their entire search and referral method is completely evolved from earlier this year. Both the search and the result are encrypted on the fly as they are made.
Unless you are a genius code breaker (and you might be..who am I to say) then I don't think it's possible any more

    Google encrypts searches?
Well it's their data. So if they wanna play silly buggers I suppose it's up to them

While you seem to be enjoying second-guessing my reasons for wanting to do this and making fairly major assumptions about me, I assure you my reasons are none of the above. I'm not actually intending to commit fraud in any way whatsoever.

Well it can in fact be done. You give a valid reason for wanting it done and I'll tell you exactly how to do it, fair enough?

First of all, I can't find any logical way to use this other than faking statistics for the sale of a website. We're at Blackhatworld not scamworld. Second of which, Google remove keyword data since they went private to "protect their users". So you cannot receive keyword data from searches. I recommend you legitimately create a website that receives traffic from google rather than faking it and dropping the worthless website on someone who doesn't deserve to receive that.
