How to fake a link url for the browser?

    I found this script to hide the affiliate link from the user. Is it possible to hide the link which refers to the .php file with the script content from google and other search engines? This is the scriptcode i found here on bhw. Is there a better way to achieve my goal then this one?

    Most (newer) major browsers have this method blocked by default, but you can use a bit of javascript to display whatever you want in the status bar (bottom portion of your browser window) and 'hide' it that way.

    Erm, I can't post links yet but just do a google search for "javascript status bar message", that should get you what you're looking for.

    You can also add an alt="text here", which will be the tooltip that shows up when the user hovers over the link.
