How to estimate the quantity of backlinks?

Hello,
I want my website to be on the 1st page after writing the keyword in google (there is only 1 keyword I want to work with).
Google shows 500 monthly searches (but it's gonna be huge in next few months).
How can I estimate the quantity of backlinks I need to add ?
Let's say I want to use fiverr for my target . . .

You better concentrate on high quality and high PR backlinks rather than quantity of the links.

I'll say by PR , Relevance , age and number of back links on the page . I also agree with poweronices quality over quantity .

No one knows the exact quantity needed, olgart. That's purely based on how well your competition is doing, what kind of websites they have (in terms of Page rank and domain age), etc etc. It's all about competing strictly with your competitors, it does not matter at all what the amount of monthly searches are. You say the popularity of the term is going to grow in the next month, so this means there will be more competition ahead of you. So you have a nice head start now, so focus on building high quality links like the two gentlemen above me stated. And don't worry about quantity, just keep building, even when you are in position 1 you aren't finished, you will always need to defend your rank.
