I’m exploring ways to generate income through gaming in 2025 — beyond just streaming or casual play. I’m open to both traditional and unconventional methods (including grey-hat tactics) that can realistically scale.

Interested in strategies such as:
  • Reselling in-game currencies, items, or accounts
  • Automated farming using emulators/macros
  • PvP boosting or coaching models
  • Play-to-earn or NFT-based opportunities
  • Any profitable side-hustles within the gaming ecosystem

If you’ve had success or know of any proven models, I’d appreciate your insights or pointers to communities/resources.

check www.itch.io which is a commjunity specifcally designed around the promotion and development of games. Many of them are paid, and if you release on the platform it looks like people are happy to pay. Its sort of like a revamped 2000's newgrounds.

If I was releasing a game I would build up my asset screenshots, and community interaction on this site no doubt.

Join game QA and bug-bounty programs. Indie devs pay you to test new builds, find glitches, and give feedback. You earn $5–$50 per bug, no huge setup needed, and it scales as you build reputation.

There are definitely a few legit and grey methods still working in 2025. Reselling accounts or items can be solid if you stick to high-demand games. Automated farming with emulators still works in some titles, but watch out for bans. PvP boosting and coaching have decent demand too.

For some "easy" money you could release a very basic hentai visual novel on itch io. Release it for free and use patreon as the money making strategy: subscribers will get more features, early access, special contents, etc...

Create a basic plot using AI, people won't care anyway, they just want to see cute naked girls... but the fact that is a game it's more immersive for them. Use a simple software like Renpy, again, use AI to write the code. It's simple code so it won't struggle for most part. For the art/visuals, you have 2 ways:

1) Koikatsu studio (you can easily find the better repack version online, it's a torrent download): simple software but you can really go in depth with it. You just need the character creator and the prefabs animations tho.

2) Use AI to generate images. If you have a decent hardware you can use it locally so it's free, but forget about videos/animations, they still suck and you would need an extremely powerful hardware. Images are fine tho, there are a lot of models and guides.

Don't focus on little details, just copy others. Give to characters the most common personalities you can find in any anime/ecchi/hentai

I know a website where I can get game accounts (for example, Fortnite accounts with some skins) for pennies and resell these accounts for a higher price on other marketplaces.

CPA content locking? It can always work because there are always new gamers who will complete offers for some in-game stuff.

Sorry complete newbie here. Can you explain what CPA content locking is in more detail?

Most stable money in gaming still comes from legit stuff like coaching, boosting, or selling services around skills or accounts in allowed games.

Anything like automation or grey methods can scale short term but usually gets accounts banned fast now. Play-to-earn and NFT stuff is much weaker than it was so treat it carefully.

There are still ways to make money in gaming but most stable ones are services like boosting coaching or trading items in legit markets automation and grey methods can work short term but risk bans so safer to build something sustainable over time

User generated content. Things like mods, skins, texture packs, maps, scripts, and plugins. All of this can be monetized using platforms like Lootlabs.

Lootlabs is specifically geared toward gaming related content. It allows you to monetize download links by placing them behind a content locker, where users have complete various task or tasks to gain access. The platform gives you multiple monetization options, diffrent tiers and amount of tasks you can set.

Why don't you just sell access to the paid versions of the games?
