I think you should invest some money to build a good blog, then you can earn more money with adsense or other affiliate programs.

if you have good traffic in your blog you can apply for Google Adsense and also move on to affiliate marketing

If we should go by the term 'investment,' I think it's impossible to earn without any investment. Life doesn't work like that. The time dedicated to blogging itself is an investment. So I'd take the term 'investment' in your case to mean 'money.' And yes, you can earn with your blog without investing money into it except paying the hosting company. 1) Get a good, free themes and plugins. 2) Create mind-blowing contents that'll drive traffic to your blog. 3) Connect with influencers in the game by guest posting to their blogs. 4) Monetize your blog through affiliate programs whether Pay Per Click or Click Per Action. All these, of course, don't come with ease. You have to put in your best--time and efforts in order to earn. I hope this helps.

As everyone has already stated first concentrate on providing content that is worthy of bringing you traffic and depending on the amount and type of traffic, how you are engaging that traffic and what your niche/vertical market is you can then go on to determine how to best proceed to monetize your blog.

If you have traffic, then try adsense which will make you some $$. Without investing anything you can't earn as you imagine.

I think that you also may consider selling an eBook or other product created by you. Something you are good about and is in relation with the content of the blog. Creating an email list with the right audience from the beginning is a good decision.

I got my first payment online through Adsense wherein ads are placed on a blogspot blog. Meaning you can earn from a blog without any investment. That's true. The problem is, it might took you long period of time to start earning from it. Adsense ads, paid reviews, creating and selling eBooks, affiliate marketing, these are just few of the methods that you can try for you to earn from a blog, without any investment at all. But like what I said, it might took you a long time before you start seeing profit comes.

You can earn by adsense if you having good traffic from your site. Else, you need to create new blog then you need to spend more time.
