How to do Mobile/SMS campaign for Pizza Restaurant?

I thought I saw a post yesterday that explained how to do text message marketing for a pizza restaurant.

But I can't find it now!

Someone suggested doing Twilio, or using Twitter's free texting... but how do you do this? I'm a total newbie. How much to charge? What kind of texts to send out?

Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!!

Since nobody replied, I guess I will. You should be able to use Gtalk, as a way to send text messages or some other SMS website. There are plenty that are free and can be used around the world. For price, it is use to what is worth your time. Figure out how many u can send an hour and charge for how hard you work.

What kind to send out? Well, send stuff that promotes the pizza place. "The best Pizza joint in town - name of place". Fairly simple?

Not a good idea to just cold text a legit pizza place all over locally.

Offer your customers/clientele a coupon every once in awhile and a chance at winning a vacation package after ordering x amount of pizza within a short time frame.

But avoid sites which offer you free SMS, because you don't know is that reliable service or you have limitation of sending SMS per day or something similar.

I am thinking written text promotion strategy for cafe and I am looking for a good cellular promotion sms company to analyze out my written text advertising strategy. I am doing as much analysis as I can and if anyone has sound advice and concepts and would like to play a role please go right forward.

For SMS marketing you'll want a telephony API like Twilio or Plivo. In order to send messages using these services you'll want some sort of interface. SendHub works well - they're built ontop of Twilio and provide a web interface that supports bulk messaging.

You'll generally want to tread with caution regarding SMS marketing if you are in the States. Follow the FCC's rules regarding text message marketing - don't send unsolicited texts, provide an opt-out, etc. You don't want a lawsuit
