Not entirely true. The results differ, not for all searches tho.

To the op, just create a mobile version of the website, on a folder or subdomain and backlink to it as you would backlink a normal website, it does the trick for me.

Oh and do be careful about duplicate content issues

Google now detect which mobile platform and country from visitor. The result may be different on each type

Now a days Search engines like google can easily identify that from which cellular connection the guest tried to attempt the site . The outcome may be different on each kind .
