I created a small fake account and was able to scrape a followers list of 3k users

now I wanted the followers_count of each of the 3k users.

I wrote a small program to do this, but after 1.3k followers, my account was blocked for too many requests and it's not been reset even after many hours

How to do Instagram scrape without getting blocked?

Most likely hitting API daily limits, add more scrapers for bigger tasks

That's too many API calls per account, lower that for 400 daily and add more scrapper accounts to farm higher numbers

Instagram has been really strict regarding automation and picking up on newer things every day.

The way out? Go slow or get multiple accounts.

Well, what were you expecting ? You went way above the daily allowed limits, you should be doing no more than 200/300 per day .
