How to Do Comment Marketing on Reddit That Actually Works?

. Honestly just spamming links doesn't work. People sniff that out real quick. Try being genuinely helpful first off. Find a subreddit where you actually know stuff and answer peoples questions thoughtfully. If your site solves a problem bring it up naturally only if its relevant. And for the love of all thats holy dont be pushy. Think like you're talking to a friend not trying to sell them something. Quality over quantity dude. One really good comment is way better than ten bad ones.

I’m trying to drive traffic by commenting on Reddit, but I’m not sure what works. If anyone has tips or methods that actually work, please share.
To drive traffic on Reddit, focus on being helpful and genuine. Avoid short or repeated replies, don’t flood threads use multi-quote if needed. Skip “thanks” messages or PM offers; instead, share value directly in your comments. If you contribute meaningfully, people will check you out naturally.

Comment early on posts that rank on Google, you get long-term traffic and use upvotes from other accounts to push your comment to the top.

I am trying to drive traffic by commenting on Reddit as well and also hoping that I can promote my business there as well. Please how do I promote my business here on Blackhatworld?

I think linking its not the way to go ,instead give people so much value that will contact you and ask you for more .I think this its the way to go

Promoting on Reddit (without being banned):

Reddit hates blatant self-promotion, but it rewards authenticity and helpfulness.

Here’s how to do it right:

  1. Join Relevant Subreddits:
    • For beauty salons: r/BeautyPros, r/MakeupAddiction
    • For accountants: r/accounting, r/smallbusiness
    • For solar: r/solar, r/renewableenergy
    • For digital marketing: r/SEO, r/Entrepreneur, r/SmallBusiness
  2. Be a Helpful Contributor First:
    • Spend time commenting, answering questions, and engaging with posts.
    • Build karma to gain credibility.
  3. Use Soft Promotion Tactics:
    • Share your experience: “We recently saw a 3x increase in traffic for a beauty salon after optimizing for local SEO terms like ‘nail salon near me.’”
  4. Post Case Studies or AMA (Ask Me Anything):
    • Example: “I helped a solar company rank #1 on Google. AMA about SEO for solar companies!”

Warm up accounts, or buy them aged. Start by logging in, browsing... replying to comments.
Don't start posting or even posting new comments yourself for several days.
Use adspower or Dolphin with high quality rotating proxies.

Opt to spam brand names/website names rather than links (unless you're doing affiliate).

To make your links stick on reddit, just share valuable posts, spammy links won’t get much attention.

Be helpful, drop value, and only plug links when it fits the convo. Real talk wins on Reddit!

as some other members pointed out, be genuine. If you go straight to promo people will notice and you will get called out. Also do not overspam in a given subreddit. Try to be gentle, helpful and respectful.

Reddit traffic works best when you're helpful, not salesy. Add value to real convos, drop your link only when it fits naturally. Use aged accounts if possible, and focus on niche subreddits where your content makes sense.

Be helpful and genuine in niche subreddits. Add value to the discussion, and only share your link when it naturally fits the conversation.

never promote any thing directly bcz reddit does not allow any affiliate link
Now, instead of just dropping links and sounding spammy (which won’t work and will probably get you banned), focus on being genuinely helpful. take the time to write thoughtful, detailed, and useful replies. For example, u might share ur personal experience with a product, explain why u think it’s a good fit for their needs, or mention some pros and cons. U can provide links but then when its needed, its on u how u get this out the best time and place
Got it—Reddit's strict about affiliate links, so direct promotion is a no-go. To engage effectively, focus on authentic, helpful responses. Share personal insights, like your experience with a product, why it suits their needs, or balanced pros and cons.

You need to make sure that you know about the niche and subreddit you are promoting you website in.

comment without a link but with your brand mentioned slightly like a hint. Make sure your brand name is unique and when someone searches for it on google your result comes first.

small things like this work.

Try drooping insightful comments on niche questions- no links, just value. Let curiosity do the rest when they check your profile or search your brand.

This is exactly the tactic we use and it works very well. +1

Hi I know this isn't related to your question. Do you have any tips on getting aged hq reddit accounts?

mind giving examples on how you do it? are you making any real money doing this?

I have generated some leads for my business with Reddit posting. What I can say worked the best so far is to write posts/comments by yourself/any human - not AI. tried both. had more traction without AI. It is possible, but I think you would need more accounts aged with big karma and maybe do a whole thing. ofc proxy and some other things (which I clearly don't know) might be required.
