How to do a presence check for SAPE links?

So, I'm not entirely sure how SAPE works. I just bought a couple of links by myself from sape.ru. They show with the green OK and all, and it's been a couple hours since I added them. Now, assuming they were published by the system, am I supposed to actually find my links in the source code of those sites? Or are they only made visible by the Sape script to the search engine bots?

Is it possible also that the links won't work at all on some sites, even though the sites are in the Sape database?

Just curious to know how this works.

Ok, so instead of waiting for others' answers, I actually did something useful - I ordered some 15 SAPE links and checked all those pages for the presence of the link. Here's what I found:

1. on some (a few) the link is actually visible in the footer of the page;
2. on most pages, it's only to be found in the source;
3. and on a couple (usually home pages) it's not to be found at all.

The last category is what puzzled me in the first place. Since these are the most expensive links, what's to be made of the fact that the link is not to be found in the source? The SAPE system has them marked down as OK, charges the money for them, but are the links actually there hidden in some way or not? Should one just reject the page and move on? I am sure there are SAPE experts here who can answer this. Anyone?
