Hey guys,

I am struggling with the keyword research (actually this is the step I am most scared). Finding a profitable niche seems like mission impossible for me. I usually start with some random product on Amazon, then check eBay and SERP. I think I fail to identify trends because every single time a put a long-tail word in Google the trend tends to be negative. I would appreciate some advice on how I can do better at my initial research.

Type into google "best xxx xxx" anything which comes to mind , then use Moz pro (free trial available) or Kwfinder for checking keyword difficulty . Ahrefs competition is BS .
As additionak you can check allintitile:"best xxx xxx" results , if they are less than 500 its perfect

I have Semrush so I guess it will work also. Do you check Google trends also?

i guess its impossible to get a less than 500 results in "best xxx xxx " long tail keywords . that is what i come out with after long researching , what do you think

Do not use semrush , best is Kwfinder and Moz , later you can also analyze the link profile of each top10 site and laser target the competition.
No need for google trend I think, unless it is some newly emerging niche , but in this casd keyword tools would be useless cause they won't show statistics for these queries.
There are less popular but highly searched niches.
