How to determine keyword competition? NEED HELP :)

I have found some keywords with below metrics of top 10 sites.

High DA, including Amazon and some big eCommerce site
low PA, <20
low backlinks to page, <20
the content of some site are SEO optimized

are these keywords high or low competition? should I give up it?

The first problem with people is that they do not understand how metrics works. No good Internet marketer or web owner will show you his back links. So, these metrics mean nothing. The #1 site in my niche does not have any backlinks but do you believe that it does not have any backlinks? No!




People hide Backlink these days. And if backlinks are protected there is nothing much to see in metrics. Your best chance is to find a site within the first 20 results which does not have its pbn or other backlinks hidden from the metrics sites. Then gauge how much links you need to get on the first page and from that you can get the idea whether the keyword is worth or not.

Look at how many pages are ranked in the index.

After you see compare it with popular niches and divide the number. Some stuff can be done by hand, but there's very little software circulating to get exact numbers.

Its difficult to know the exact competition simply because you cannot see all of their backlinks.
