I'm into sneakers. Most don't know that sneakers sell out on Nike in a matter of seconds and it is almost impossible to get the sneakers from the site manually. I have purchased a program that will purchase the shoes automatically. I also have signed up for a softlayer server for the Internet speed and processing speed. My question is does anyone have any other suggestion to increase my chances? Also would a dedicated server be better. Please note I'm only using the server for about a hour every Saturday. Thanks for the help

Your program is a script or a software? No, you dont need a dedicated server for something simple as this. To increase your chancel, what you should be doing is, to edit the program to be the fastest. i.e to check the availability on short spans, making sure your IP is not banned or something for checking always etc.

Also, to maximize the chances to the maximum, upgrade your connection to 1Gb dedicated. Well, thats it. No need of a dedicated server.

I can take a look if you want. Get to me on skype.(repulsorbhw)

It is a software I have use 1gb dedicated through softlayer. I can not change the software since it is managed by the person I purchased it from. My server is not banned so im good on that. I guess I am just unlucky. I have been having trouble determining where nike servers are tho. When I try to locate them it is either Cali or Massachusetts. Right not my server is in San jose maybe my server location is the issue. Also what do you mean but availability on short spans

In my own opinion, 3 aspects that you should consider:- Uptime- Price- Customer Support

You should go for pay-as-you-go cloud VPS hosting, so you can pay only for the time you are using it.

It depends on the "volume" of using cloud VPS hosting. pay-as-you-go is fair and proper to people who don't use VPS much.

A VPS should be fine for a website and you will need to expand your resources as your website gets larger. You will probably require a deducated server upon maximising your resources. Ensure that you have a 1Gbps port!
