Which ad Network are you referring to? In most of them that I have worked with, there is a way to View traffic sources on your Advertiser dashboard/ control panel either by URL or by website ID within their system or what have you... once you find that you can usually under the report section of most of them if not all see a breakdown of the visit she received by country by date by browser type or bi publisher or site ID... View your receive visits by sight ID or put publisher URL ( same information just whether or not they disclose the publishers website URL to you)... if there appears to be a disproportionate amount of visitors coming from one publisher ID (e.g. most publisher ID on the list have maybe 1 to 5 visitors day sent you, and one that manage to send you 2000)- you found your Bot... is usually an option to Blacklist sites... and if you're not sure about how to blacklisted or you can't find that option make sure to email their customer support explaining that you need to Blacklist publisher ID number xxxxx or publisher example.com and why and make it sound like it would be the difference between spending money with them again or not and they will take care of you
At least this is been my experience
