Hello,
I've run into the problem, that on a brand search one of the top results is not a pleasant review of the company on a niche relevant popular news site. This article ranks there for years.

Does anybody have an idea how we could get rid of the article ranking for our brand keyword? Our goal is to get it off the result page completely.

5 proven ways to remove online content:

1. Get the author to delete their own content. First, the bad news....
2. Have content removed at the publisher level....
3. If they won't remove content, maybe they'll change it....
4. Keep the page but make it invisible to Google....
5. The Google removal request.

doubt you will have much luck removing it from search results. still, you can push it to second page. create links from the following sites for the business name that you are working on. usually these links show up in the first page when searching for a company name

social media profile pages
crunchbase
pinterest
medium
zoominfo
goodfirms
glassdoor
reddit
sourceforge
fouresquare
angel.co
drupal.org profile

What you want to do is to rank as many properties as you can on Google for your client's name so that the article will get lower on SERPs.
