One of my client's website have 40% spam score but that doesn't stop us to rank...moz spam score checker take multiple things into consideration while checking spam score not only backlinks..

There isn't much you can do other then outreaching the spam links or building new non spam links.

Have you checked your backlink profile as MOZ tools/metrics are utter garbage, why people are still so fucking depended on that company with weak metrics is beyond me.

Get a copy of Ahref, check your backlinks and disavow any link that you think is spam, use your common sense this isn't string theory. Stop using MOZ for anything SEO related as they are garbage invest some money in some real tools

Remove all the spammy backlinks, also remove the plagiairsed content if there is any ...

Check the spam Backlinks with Moz or any other tools like monitorbacklinks or semrush

-Make a list and contact the owners of those website to remove your links.
-Disavow them in google.

This my method and it work like a charm
