How to decide best tags and description?

I didn't realise how important they were until I started on a new channel which needs to grow through related videos and search results, so how do I decide what is best?

I'd appreciate any help, thanks

maybe check out popular videos of the same category and copy their tags etc

Make tutorials, use tags for that video that is related.
