Anyone has a good idea on how to curate content without getting in to plaigarism but still getting google love?

I know citations are mostly used. Is this a good way.

------------------

My comment (couple of sentences)
Citation (500 words)
Citation Source url
-----------------

should I make the source url n0-follow?

thanks,

i am interested in this as well ... would be to good :)

Guys, please someone tell me what is "curation". Thank you.

What about multi layer spinning? Might take some time but you'll end up with unique articles. If done by hand they'll be readable.

Edit: Oh I think I see what your saying. hmm...
I would go with a summery of the content. Maybe a hard 500 unique words about the article. Then share first few sentences of the article. Then italicize the link and bold it. Don't hyperlink it.

Hey dude I don't know about the curation but i want to know. Is there anyone who can tell about the definition of the curation.

Curate: Select, organize, and look after the items in (a collection or exhibition).
You could have googled it?

Anyway I've some what changed what I said. If the OP is just using some type of article gatherer and using quotes it will look very bad in big G's eyes with out unique content. Their for I would write my article and then include the quotes sparingly through out the article.

Then do a mla style citation. Include hyperlink but I would use nofollow relation to sculpt the link juice.

I'm getting the impression that this is information that's not being spread freely...

Unless the content you want to curate is very specific, why not take questions on your site, or answer your own questions that someone could want to know.

500 words for a citation is basically the whole article.... If you spread the citation around and comment more often on it, probably get better results.

Neutralhatter,

I saw another post on this forum a couple weeks ago where someone had a really good idea for getting some original content. The strategy was not really ethical or long term but very effective for getting some quick unique content.

Create an ad on craigslist looking for writers. As part of the application process, require that a 500 word article on one of the following topics (include your topics) be submitted.

Sit back and collect your content.

Obviously its not very nice to advertise a job that doesn't exist and then make people work for it. Also, I'm not sure how many times you could do that before people got wise to it.

Those things being true its still an effective idea.

Best,

Shawn

There are prior threads and downloads on BHW on curation. Basically, the sites do not require any spinning, as only a small segment of the articles are quoted with link, and they are not penalized for duplicate content when Google notes the curation structure of the site.

If you want to know how to curate content and how to do it well, even though I don't frequent the site, it's a perfect example: PerezHilton dot com

that's not ethical indeed. Won't catch me doing that and in all honesty whoever does that, Should get cought and be punished for it. that's just wrong.

You can also have a "5 awesome resources on topic XXYYZZ" and link to other articles with your own blurb at the top
