How to create demand for a new cryptocurrency

Besides offering it as a form of payment, how else would you promote your very own crypto coin? I notice a lot of browser-based mining. There's even a blog-based system (steemit etc). Any other models you've seen?

if you don't have a huge audience to promote it to already, there's really no point in even throwing around the idea IMO.

Offer free coins off course.. what makes you so special (no disrespect intended).. however, your just another person in an already saturated market.

the dude who created java is also offering a browser based crypto thing and offering free coins in return. I am gonna be straight with you, this is 10 a penny now and saturated.

Ask yourself, how deep are your pockets to promote this coin ? what is your chances of getting investors, etc ? why would they choose you, over an already saturated market.

What i am saying is, don't waste your time, imo!

i've signed up to this before, however, i have not used it, nor do i intend to use it, as i don't see any value in it, for me personally.

sorry, not to sound harsh, just giving you my opinion.

Simply you have to create need/demand by offering a reason to invest

How about Affiliation?

Such as partnership with reputed organizations or offering discounts from popular stores..etc

You can implement the concept almost everywhere. Like on a Social networking website or Q&A website like Quora.

Quora is testing the option to reward best answers in cash. You can do same in coins.

Airdrops, everyone likes free things/ money. Of course the project it self must be something that gives value.

Same way you promote any other tech product these days.

Generate buzz, pay the media to post content about it, pay journalists to talk about it. You know, "news" media.

How do you create a demand for anything? with Effective marketing. There are a lot of ways to do that and you can learn about them with google searches and in other threads here. a few of these strategies are email lists, social media, press releases, coupons/givaways, videos, blogging. If you are starting your own cryptocurrency, then good luck to you.
