How to create an Ebook?

Yes, the question sounds utterly silly and yes, I searched on Google the whole afternoon without finding anything that wasn't asking to pay cash for it.

My texts are already ready, I just need to convert them into an ebook so I can sell it on Amazon Kindle.

Thanks in advance and god forbid my ignorance.
