You don't need to upgrade to create a basic thread.
You need to upgrade if you want to sell something, help forum, etc.

Hi there, I've created a thread under "Want to purchase". My required item was fullfilled by an user and want to mark it solved/close the thread but I don't have the option to do it.
Did i miss something or are we not allowed to do it? I want to mark it fulfilled else someone else might be interested in it and would like to contact me
