Hey,

I recently started doing SEO for a local business, and I am facing a tricky situation.

So my client has a CCTV installation business in Delhi. But I am struggling to get them ranked on location-based keywords. because of this one particular competitor. He has different domains and brands for the same thing; they all have his contact details. Each of these domains name have a service name and location which ranks pretty well on its own.

Like if I am targeting a keyword, say "CCTV installation in Delhi," he has an exact same domain name for this keyword, like (cctvcameraindelhi.in).

And he also has a main or master domain, which is, I guess, his only registered business (micronetgroup). And this domain has so many services, from CCTV installation to digital marketing. Like he does everything. For each service, he has a bunch of domains.

I wanted to ask what would be my best bet to compete against it?

Outrank him in Content Quality, Buyer Intent, and Service pages built on "Near me" keywords! Study their Backlink profile, and you should be able to figure out why they are ahead of you!
Keywords in the URL surely help, but if you can tell Google about your legitimate business and how your Service is better than theirs, then you have a fair chance to outrank them![EEAT]
Focus simultaneously on GMB as well targetting your service related keywords, as that would be more beneficial approach then ranking your website alone for these Terms.
Good Luck! :)

that doesn't make him a dirty competitor. He is just smart to take over the entire locality. You may want to do what he is doing but do it better.

yeah you are right but it sucks man. I don't have that kind of budget.

What kind of content can I write to target "near me" keywords? Like a blog or something else. What other activities?

If you have a single domain for multiple services then you should have Separate page for Each location + Service Keywords (CCTV Camera Installation New Delhi then, you can include Many sublocations- CCTV installation Near Canaught palace, Near Rohini etc) , Then create a lot of Pillar Content around the Service + Location Topic (Solving issues related to CCtv, What New Cameras are introduced and how your service differs and what kind of Experience you have, Explain it all) <<< This should be in Blog Section dividing each topic into Separate Blog Post! Connect these Posts with your Service pages, which have CTA, Put The FAQ Section on each Service page -- Answering common queries that a Potential customer may ask...
Get Local Citations and Find local websites that can let you publish a blog post with a Backlink(Outreach Links)! This all done Right, should really help you!
Good Luck! :)

You can buy couple of domain like he does and host on the same server that might reduce the cost.

Also you can try different sub domain.

And if he is in the first position then there are left 2 good position in the serp 2 &3.

I was thinking if it would be considered and viewed like a PBN by Google? And Google does not like those, i think.

I did the same thing for a client too. In SERPs where the competition it's low and not tech-savvy, it works like magic, you fill the SERP with the same company.

I think there isn't a relevant way to outrank them other than keep working on your page and authority to get the first place.

So, I should the same thing but better.

Hello, you can conduct regional/service-based work. You can create cross-links for each region and service. For example, City 1- Keyword 1, then City 1-Keyword 2, City 2- Keyword 1, and so on, can be multiplied. The more keywords and services you have, the more you need to mix them and ensure that the content redirects to other content based on city and service.

Agree with the location pages recommendation. Create seperate pages for each hyper location/ area in your city. Power it up with some google stacks and my maps (this ranks real good).

Create more content as blogs around your city or specific target areas... It helps. Interlink everything properly. Yes.

Ps - your competitor is not smart. Industry and city is low competition.
