How to Convert MP3 to FLAC?

Need to convert mp3 files that are around 200mb to FLAC files. Been looking for converters but online ones have a 100mb limit and I'm struggling to find any software.

Anyone had experience with doing this?

Why do you need to convert mp3 to Flac ?? It doesn't make any sense if you are curious about quality.
You can try mediamonkey for conversion by the way.

If you have linux box you could use ffmpeg

I have Nero 9 Installed on my PC.
And I can convert MP3 to FLAC.
FLAC Encoder is installed by default with Nero, i think.

Start Nero Start Smart, Click "Create and Edit" select "Convert Audio Files" add your "MP3".
In the output File Format, select "FLAC" and click on "GO".

But remember, that doesn't change the quality of your Audio File.

i think it make not much sense to convert this way ...... why you need that ?

I'm not sure why it matters why I just do. It's not for personal use it's for a project I'm working on. The site uploading to needs FLAC files and I don't really care about quality.

For anyone else interested, FreeMake Audio Converter worked for me. Great piece of software actually.

Try this online free MP3 to FLAC converter:Convert.Files. Works quite well for me.

I'm compelled to jump onto the anti-FLAC hogpile. We don't care if you don't care about quality, and we don't care what your reasons are. We want you to ignore all of that, and do what we think instead. Which is to stay the hell away from FLAC files.

There. It just needed to be said. No one else was going to say it, so I had to.

I remember when I use to subscribe to various online DJ pools. You had to be careful of the new dj pool sites claiming they had high quality FLAC or WAV files cheaper then the other guys, when it was just crappy 96kbps mp3 files converted into FLAC files. Great way to destroy your QSCs.
