how to chosse the thumbnail for your video

To use a custom thumbnail for your youtube video, go to a editing program and load your video, then get a picture you want for the thumbnail and then put the picture in the middle of the video.

Well look at thumbnails and check the middle of the vids--http://www.youtube.com/browse?s=mr&c=24
It has to do something with the colours .Because the youtube uploader always choice the pale thumbnails even if you move the right picture in the video 10 secondes back it takes another pale thumbnail.

are you sure? cause that can't be, because the video still i set for my youtube icon is black with a person on and it's one of the darkest points of my video :S hmmm
