How to chop a video?

I need to chop or split my videos to different files so I can upload it to a host that requires only 100mb for uploads. My videos are 500mb each. How will I gonna do this?

you could try windows movie maker if you cant find something else.

Look into ffmpeg. It is a command line app that is fully automatable, very fast, great for batch processing and open source. It is the shit for automated video work.
 
Use WinRAR. Click Add -> General (Make sure Archive Format is .RAR)

Down below, Click Split To Volumes, bytes (Select 98,078K - ZIP 100)

Or you can use software like HJSplit.
 
Yeah, I would go with winrar, that sounds like the best option. Also, means you don't have to mess about editing the video.

Archive the movie in one .rar
use hjsplit to split it tell your
downloaders to use it to rejoin it.

It's free and it's simple.
 
I know winrar seems like a nice option but ive always hated the fact that you cant watch a movie unless you have all the parts. Is there any way split it so the moviesnare still watchable.

Wrong, lets say you've downloaded movienamepart1.rar file.

Right click the .rar file and select extract files. A dialog box appears asking where you want to extract. Under the miscellaneous box, just select Keep broken files (now, it should have a tick mark next to keep broken files)

Now, you can watch the film with VLC media player. Obviously you can only watch the movie upto the length the part 1 file contains.

My files are not downloadable. They are flv format. I will upload them to a host and then stream it to another site.
 
Get sony vegas i cut my videos how i want with it, if you know how to work with it the quality will remain, or you can change it, im very satisfied with SV i have build a site with videos i made with it.
 
Winrar is the best option for sure unless you don't want to put them back together. In that case, windows movie maker, camtasia or premiere pro.

OP wants to split a video file into 100 MB parts so he can upload it to file hosting networks.

I dont know how quicktime will help since i've never used it.
