I am confused on how to wisely choose websites for guest posts

- DR DA TF .... etc all can be faked
- Traffic also can be faked -- and as far as I know traffic doesn't affect the ability to pass SEO juice

Some sellers try to cheat and offer guest posts on penalized websites (some are deindexed from Google) and still, they charge good money for it assuming lack of knowledge from clients.

So please experienced users, tell me how what factors or checklist to base my decision on.

Hardly could you fake traffic if you have tools like Ahrefs to access top pages and bring them the most traffic. I talked about the unscrupulous approach used by some of these webmasters here:

DR & website traffic should be prioritized when picking guest-linked websites.

You must need to take relevent guest post. DR will 40+. Traffic shoul have atleast 1k. Traffic growth need to be up stair.

Many here are having fake DR DA easily manipulated with traffic as well , beware check the webmaster stats only before buying .

I would go with relevancy and traffic stats but check the sites keywords and see where their traffic is coming in from.

You're absolutely correct—relying solely on individual indicators can lead to misinformation. It's imperative to adopt a holistic approach when evaluating websites for SEO purposes.

Assess Advertisement Density:
Begin by scrutinizing the website's homepage for excessive advertising, particularly related to casinos, betting, or gambling. Such advertisements can signal a lack of credibility and may negatively impact your site's reputation if associated.

Relevance to Your Niche: Prioritize websites that align with your niche. Google rewards relevance, so acquiring backlinks from sites related to your industry enhances your website's authority and improves its search engine rankings.

Utilize SEO Tools: Leverage professional SEO tools to analyze the website's backlink profile and traffic trends. Look for consistency in traffic patterns and avoid sites with irregular spikes or declines, which may indicate artificial manipulation.

Evaluate Outbound Links: Examine the websites to which the potential donor site links. Ensure that these sites maintain credibility and relevance to your niche. Links to low-quality or irrelevant sites can have detrimental effects on your own site's SEO performance.

Combatting Spam: Monitor the ratio of indexed pages to those mentioning specific niches. An excessive number of pages related to certain niches may suggest spammy tactics, potentially harming your website's reputation and SEO ranking.

By comprehensively evaluating websites based on the aforementioned factors, you mitigate the risk of being misled and ensure that your link-building efforts contribute positively to your SEO strategy.

You need to look beyond metrics and look at what really matters. It's important to find sites where your content fits well with their audience. Look at the engagement of existing posts; comments and shares are reliable indicators of an active and engaged readership. The quality of content on the site matters too. It should be original and insightful, indicating that the site values the content. Checking a site's backlink profile gives an indication of its standing in the wider web community.

Niche Relevent Guest post ,Review the quality of existing content on the website.Analyze the website's backlink profile to assess its authority and credibility.

@loveseeker78 from other approaches I feel @maxmayer approach is the best to choose a Guest post site.

My check list to outreach Guest Post sites are:

1. Niche Relevancy
2. Site Metrics
3. Organic Traffic
4. Engagement signals
5. Existing content and its interactions
6. and if possible check for any penalties in GSC

I agree with the author's concern that DA, DR, and traffic can be generated fake, but here you are saying to check webmaster stats, can you please let me know how can we access the webmaster of 3rd party guest post sites....

Relevance, quality, engagement, traffic, DA, backlink profile, indexing status—all these are checked, and you are good.

Better to check site manually before buying links from any sellers and It's your core responsibility if you want to buy links.
