How to check on website for sale

Hi Guys and Girls,

Someone is selling a website. I am interested in purchasing but would like to know if there is a way of checking the amount of traffic that the website receives per month. Is there a way I can find this out? Sorry if i've posted in the wrong section.

Check it's Alexa rank? Closest you will get..

You probably shouldn't buy a website if you don't know the basics yet.
