How to check if my site blanks the HTTP Referer

I asked this in a thread yesterday but didn't get a reply and I've also tried google but didn't really get the answer I was looking for.

How do you check if your site is hiding the referer and if there are no leaks, or even better, how does the affiliate manager check for the http referer.

Well, if you had an intermediate domain that sent traffic, that would throw a different http referer. The browser sends http referer, so I don't think it can be manipulated by the site. So basically, your site isn't throwing referrer, the client does.

http referer can be manipulated by bots so I think it would be weird for an affiliate host to rely on referer. I suppose some small affiliate programs could do it but then I could just write a bot to manipulate those values. Maybe I'm wrong about that though. It's been a long time since I worked with affiliates from publisher side.

This site should give up your referrer if it isn't being hidden. You can use it to test.

I dont want to black my referer, I meant I want to block the referer of visitors to my site.

Install statcounter on your site and analyze your traffic. For more help check
