How To Check Hidden Backlinks

If you own the site, Google Search Console. However, I find it doesn't always detect all backlinks, and if it does, they take a while to show.

Many sites block all good bots, making it nearly impossible to trace backlinks unless you own the site.

If its your own website then use GSC.
If Not try searching url of the domain you are searching hidden backlink for.

OP asked how to find hidden links probably PBN.....any popular crawlers will be blocked......so Majestic or other popular tools wont work......you will need a custom tool....I think @jamie3000 developed one.

That's gone now sorry. There was ways you can hide pbn links so that literally no one apart from Google can see them.

DNS based blocking. You can make your pbn block everything apart from the Google web crawler.

Most of backlinks checker tools are paid. You can try backlinks watch in free. Or you can just type sitelinks .

Ahh okay cool, I didn't know what. I know you can block via robots.txt file though ? have you got any good tutorials on this ?

@KlaudiaK I wouldn't suggest blocking them in your robots.txt as anybody can find out who're you blocking and that may seem suspicious.
@jamie3000 's idea is ideal as no one would know which robots are blocked except for the robots that are actually blocked. I hope it makes sense.

In hidden PBNs major bots like Ahref and Moz are blocked sometimes, hence use Google search Console to see the backlinks.
