Im having trouble changing it from the default "This is the description for the index page of your site and so should include some appropriately keyword rich copy." Ive added in a description in the description box in the seo all in one plugin but It still hasnt changed. My home page is a static page if that helps. Also Im using the flexsqueeze theme.

I think there's an option in the All-in-one SEO plugin to 'Autogenerate descriptions'. If it's checked, your descriptions won't show.

Are you sure you ticked the "enabled" in all in seo's config page? Its disabled by default even though you activate the plugin

You'll need to get the Google spider to crawl that updated page again.

Try sending a new backlink to that page.

Good luck.

its not checked. also, the other pages in the site have been indexed recently. The plugin status is enabled as well. Idk what else to do..

It should not happen but unless some one checks your site, it's tough to say where you went wrong...

BTW check in search engine when your page got cached, it may be before you updated your site or it's description... If that's the case then ping search engines or book mark your site, i mean usual way of promotion and wait until search engine again cache your site, your problem might get sorted through it...

You can also just visit whichever page on your site you want to check and then view code. If the plugin is inserting the right code then you should find the description metatag in your head section. If it has the right description, then you just need to wait till google gets it updated in the SERP. If the meta description is still wrong in your page source then something isn't working in your theme or plugin.

You might also look in the view source to see if maybe the theme and plugin are creating conflicting metatags. It isn't likely, but it would be good to check through your head section just to be sure.

If I am not mistaken, the FlesSqueeze Theme has its own SEO optimization. Maybe that is over-riding the All-in-one-SEO plugin.
