I need to change the internal linking structure of a site with about 150 pages. Site is html. Needs to be more search engine friendly. Could someone point me to a decent book or website that can tell me how to do this without screwing it up?
I know how to optimize for google. I need to know how to go about changing the old link structure into more SE friendly links. From page ID numbers to the actual product name.
I would transfer over to a cms, it shouldn't be too difficult, personally I would use wordpress as I know my way around it v. well. But drupal and joomla would also do a good job.
once it's in the cms you can automatically do the link stucture and you get the seo advantage of rss feeds etc..
How well does wordpress handle a ecommerce site? I have made many blogs on wordpress but never a store site. Can I build a wp site offline? So the site can stay up until I can build the new one?
