I am planning to change domain name of an year old website. It has around 1K organic keywords ranked. What is the best way to transfer domain name so I won't loose my traffic and ranking?

301 the domain to your new domain
Let Google know you've changed domains
Slowly build some links to your new domain

In my experience my rankings dipped for a few months.

So this change is domain level or I need to change for every url?
