you can mention a moderator for this purpose they will help you find that post because there are thousands of the posts a day on the forum.

If You met soem requirements than You can easily register edu domain. You can find them on net. educause. edu/eligibility.htm

it is not easy to get .edu and it got verified from time to time, especially for google drive service

You can't. Educause, the registry for .edu domains, does not allow transfer of .edu domains to other entities.

You just can't register some expired .edu domain like a .com or other gTLD. You need to be a registered, accredited, post-secondary educational institution in the US to be eligible to register that .edu domain.

The person you saw is either lying, or registered some subdomain of a edu domain.

based what i know, to get .edu domain, you need to have education institute on US, so preapre to pay capital equal to make new business on US

interesting because those domains are not easy to get and if it have expired edu domains that is nice! and the question is from where those edu domains are, USA or another country.

Lol, that person's facebook profile is not active now. Must be a scammer thn

I have one such domain. It is grandfathered in because it is so old, and not subject to normal educause rules. Still, it cannot be sold directly. I could, if I wanted, sell the company, which would include its assets (one of them being the domain), but cannot sell the domain itself.

But the short answer to your question is, NO you can no longer buy (or, rather, register) a .edu domain name, unless you are an accredited US institution. Those days have long since passed.

Buying a .edu domain is restricted, as .edu domains are only available to accredited educational institutions in the U.S. To acquire one, an institution must be accredited by a recognized agency and apply through EDUCAUSE, the organization responsible for managing .edu domains. Individuals or businesses cannot purchase or register .edu domains unless they meet these strict requirements. If you're part of an eligible institution, the application process involves submitting proof of accreditation.

hey there just to be clear in case you choose to sell such a domain how would the transfer take place ? lets say the company stays under your name you can just give access to the registry account and let someone else control it no ?

.edu domain names are generally only available to higher education institutions, colleges, universities, and related educational organizations. Individuals and non-educational institutions cannot register such domain names.

You can go to ClouDNS for .edu.<region> domains. These domains are currently on sale, I got $1/domain so far.
They don't sell the .edu domain because it is still under EduCase-managed.

Edit: Money is their first priority, so no document nor any verification needed, maybe they will only ask the working credit card and a working email for verification.

Hello, singhlarry. Applicants must be higher education institutions that offer degrees and are accredited by the Ministry of Education. Not only are there high qualification requirements, but there is also a complicated domain name registration process.

I am not permitted to sell the domain. But, but I could sell the legal entity that owns it, in which case the buyer would get all assets of the entity, which include the domain. The problem with most grandfathered .edu domains is that if they were registered to an individual, then they can never be transferred. In my case, it was registered to an entity and this can exchange hands.
