How to build a website internal link?

Hi guys,

How to build a website internal link? If I have 300 articles on my website, and 20 of them are in the same category, do I link all 20 articles together in this category.

In this category, internal links are arbitrary, as long as they link to relevant articles
A post link to B, B to G, C to H, H to B...

Or there is a main article in this category, and all the 20 articles are linked to that main articles. A to main post, B to main, C to main...
Or there are a couple of main articles in this category.
A, B, C.. to the first main post. L, M, N.. to the second main.

If A to B, B to C, C to D, D to A, forming a closed loop, is that good?

Are internal links disorganized? Or is there a pattern to follow?

I want to add internal links in my website to improve rankings, so should I add internal links in 3 to 5 articles a day? Or add internal links in all 300 articles on the same day.
I know it's bad to post a lot of articles in one day, so isn't it bad to add links in a lot of articles (300 articles) in one day?

Are there any instances of an increase in rank after adding internal links? If so let me know.

one of the easiest ways for google to catch link builders / people who try to game the system (ie. gain rankings) is by detecting patterns.

So, avoid patterns at all costs. Even if today you can safely link all your articles to the main pillar article, who's to say that next month google doesn't decide to tweak their algo to penalize this pattern?

It's best to be as disorganized (yet still relevant) as possible.

Just link each article with 2-10 others depending on relevancy, and don't worry about organizing anything. If - at some point - you find an article that doesn't get as good traffic / rankings as it could (because of no / few internal links) you can easily create more internal links from other articles to that article...

there's no rule of thumb, but you can add 1 link for every 100-500 words that the article has. If you have an article that's 1300 words long, for example, you could have anywhere from 2-3 to 13 internal links in that article... although, writing this I realize that 13 might be too many

Just aim for 1 link per 200-500 words, depending on relevancy and other goals you might have (boosting the authority / rankings of other articles for example)...

if your site is not yet indexed in google, or google hasn't visited your site yet you can create all 300 links at once, I don't think it matters too much...

If your site is already indexed... well... I don't know in this case, I admit ... Better wait for someone else's reply cause I'm curious too

Bro, you’re overthinking it fr.
Here’s how I did it:
Just pick the 2–3 main articles in each category and link all the other related posts to those mains. Like, if you got 20 articles, 17 of them should point to the top 3. Done.

Forget the A > B > C > D > A loop stuff. That’s nerd shit. You want Google to clearly see: “This is the main post.”
I usually drop 1 internal link every 100–150 words, but only if it makes sense. 3–5 links per article is solid.
And don’t blast all the links in one day, bro. That just looks shady. I spread it out over a week or two, do a few each day.
If you’re lazy, grab something like Link Whisper, but don’t let it run full auto — it links some dumb shit if you don’t watch it.

And yeah, rankings go up if you do it right.

Add links within your website's pages that connect to other relevant pages on your site. Use keywords as anchor text.

I think it still has some benefit but perhaps not as much as it did back when I wrote that article.

Does adding internal links improve the ranking of the entire site (300 articles), or does it improve the ranking of the linked articles?

Are related articles generated by plugins also part of internal links? When I increase internal links in text, should the number of related articles be reduced to maintain the proportion of the number of words in the article to the number of internal links?

Is it good to have exact match anchor text for internal links?

Apart from your thought-
Publish a pillar content.
Then prepare for few contents based on the pillar content: How to, Informative and so on.
Publish you how to & informative content gradually and reffer to your pillar content.

There's no point in being so technical about internal linking. Simply read the articles and whenever you find a relevant keyword that can be linked to another related article on your blog - just link it. Do it 5 to 7 times per article and all of your content will be internally linked. Since it is random, relevant and readable - it will look organic and natural.

Yes, Internal linking helps rankings if done right! Group related articles and link them naturally-all link to a main post or a mix. Add 2 internal links per post where relevant. No need to link all 300 in one day-do it naturally. Many people see ranking boosts from smart internal links.

Avoid linking in "loops". Try to think more in terms of silos and topics.

In 2025, pick 1–2 pillar pages per topic and add 3–5 clear, natural internal links from related posts back to them so Google’s AI easily understands your site structure.
