Hello all,
I have been a long time lurker on this form. I have never posted much, but had an account previous to this one I also used to read topics. Ironically, this account was created in July 2013 right around my birthday. Less than four months after creating this account I was in a freak car accident that completely took my vision, nearly all of my taste and all of my smell.
I’m not asking for sympathy, I don’t need it. I have been blind since Halloween of 2013. I was only 18 years old and had just skipped freshman year of college and was already a sophomore. I thought I had everything figured out, as most 18-year-olds do, but then lost everything. By age 20 I purchased my first property and started doing real estate after I could not even get a job at Kroger as a bagger. I’m out on quite a few properties and I’m looking to syndicate, raise money, to acquire my first small apartment building. My question is this : what do you all recommend as steps I can take or things I can do to create a strong brand? I would like to turn the negative stereotype of my blindness into a positive thing. I’m currently creating a foundation to go alongside my LLC and all future acquisitions I have will incorporate my foundation that will have the main mission of research on the optic nerve, the damage that caused my blindness and a problem that if it were ever to be solved that it would cure nearly everyone else‘s.
I’m currently about finished with my business plan and proposal. I know that I need to create a strong online presence and also probably implement some off-line tactics to reach more investors. Any ideas that you can give me would be much appreciated.
