How to brainstorm niches effectively?

I am planning on opening another micro-niche site. I will monetize the website with Adsense and Amazon affiliate products. I am at a standstill with how to brainstorm a niche. I'm not asking anybody to hold my hand through this, but if you have any resources/ alternatives to the Google Keyword planner, they would be extremely helpful. I just need to think of a niche that has high income potential and is easy to rank. Thanks in advance.

You can google for Niche Hacks blog. They have lists of niches with detailes.
Yet another tool if offervaul. Just watch what people are buying, and find ideas for your website.
And I think, you've heard that the best niche is what you are trully passionate about, and what you are interested in. Niches are everywhere. For example, right now I looked at my desk lamp and thought why not to created a website about lighting. It's a huge niche, becase everyone has light bulbs, desk lamps and other lighting in his house.

You can research on Google on how effectively advertise you niche. There are many resources online you can find.
