I have optimized my onsite seo very well and every page now has at least a 2.5 keyword density with a 92%. I have have about 1200 backlinks pointing to my site, but I am stuck in the serps since the pages I added I have about 300 now but they are all pagerank 0 and stuck on the bottom of page 1 or page 2. Are these not going to move past the guys with page rank 3's and 4's? How can I boost my page rank? Any tips or tricks?

unique content along with refering out links can do wonders I'm currently stuck on 3

I've read here that PR doesn't necessarily have much to do with your SERP rank. If I remember correctly, PR is determined by all the backlinks a site has. But SERP rank mostly has to do with how well your page or site relates to the user's search query. The other sites might just have better SEO or backlinking strategies than you do.

I've seen plenty of PR0 pages outranking PR3+ pages by a mile because the PR0's are better optimized for the keyword.

If you want to PM me the keywords and site you're working with, I'll look at them whenI have some free time just because I'm curious about your seo situation :-)

There are some thing of course that you must consider, sometimes it's because of the site, the content might be not so unique, content can also affect ranking, you must also check your links to other sites if those are still active. And just keep on building backlinks, try not to spam too much as well though we are sometimes using blackhat.

You should give your full concentration on unique and informative contents for increasing your page rank. In addition, you may add many attractive photos and videos, so that visitors can get easily attracted towards your website.

it is simple this is how my logic works for me.

I just started a website in wordpress where i posted 4 Unique articles.

Then added 500 PR2+ do-follow comments + added 10 web2.0 properties + 100 Social bookmarking initially then i pinged all the links, i got more backlinks and within 2 months i got my PR3 from nowhere.

Basically add unique content + above method twice a mon th will fetch u good PR.

Continue to build backlinks, maintain link velocity and the like, I would recommend creating a link pyramid.

I think it has a lot to do with the age of the domain as well. But I am currently stuck as well...

Thank for your information. I have been adding unique content as well as spun articles and unique pages. As for the backlinking are you doing this manually, with programs, or outsourcing? I am currently stuck at a page rank 2 and wanting a page rank 3 or 4.

Also my domain is about 3 years old. I am up against my competitors who have page rank 3 and 4 and domains or about 12 years old. I am trying to match there backlinking, but it seems I have not got a working strategy just yet. I have moved up from not in the top 100 to number 11 for my ranking keyword within the last month and half.

It sounds like you're making progress but just not as fast as you would like. Keep doing what you're doing, but be careful with spun content. Make sure this content is readable. If it is not, then it will hurt your rank.

Another piece of advice...forget about PR. Right now, it means nothing. You are competing against well established authority sites (or at least authorities in your niche). Using their linking strategy is good, but not going to get you ahead any time soon.

Instead, you need to find more unique content that targeted traffic may be needing or searching for. Don't go after their traffic, create different traffic. Use long-tail keywords of terms that THEIR pages are ranking for.

Think of it like an auto race (or Nascar). The goal is to win, right? Well in our case, finishing in the top 10 is good (page 1 Google), but the top 3 even better. Just like racing, that's where the money is at. If you drive the same car with the same motor, but against more experienced drivers (12 year old domain vs. 3 year domain), how do you win? You win by tweaking and tuning your car (website) to perform differently on the same track (SERPs)!

It is a gamble and requires a lot of research and testing, but you can do it. I have done it with my Amazon niche sites. I have done it with my CB review sites. I have done this for Adsense MNS. Many aged domains have pages that rank well for a certain keyword, true, but you can outrank them for this same keyword if you follow certain steps. These websites often don't go back and change or tweak their content and it becomes somewhat outdated. If you are an authority in a niche, then it is easy to analyze your competitors' ranking pages and build stronger ones that have better optimization and stronger linking strategies. Then, you target a long tail keyword term and rank a page for it. Link this page to your other page and eventually your page will become more relevant to the SERPs.

It it a lot of work, but it is the quality that you focus on. The more unique, the better. The more long tail. the better. I use this technique to outrank Amazon and the manufacturer for a specific product that I am reviewing/promoting. My page is what I am ranking for, not my site. As a matter of fact, I really don't care about my homepage URL and the PR it has...that is not how I get traffic. Direct linking to my homepage URL still occurs but it is the content of my site that I care about and how each PAGE ranks - not the site as a whole.

PR will naturally happen over time but is not as important as people finding your individual pages through the search engines. Your individual pages promote a product or receive affiliate clicks so drive targeted traffic straight to those. That is how you will make money and where your focus should be.

Awesome!! thank you for putting it in newbie terms. It makes a lot of sense I think I was confused about the whole page rank thing as all the threads on here I was reading people kept talking about backlinking and page rank. I will keep up with a strategy that I have. Question so when you make a new page as I am made a couple of them with the exact keyword I am going for as well as the city I am going for. For backlinking purposes I should now point them to this page and not the homepage anymore correct? As you want this page to rank for that keyword and not your homepage? My next venture is to get into adsense, but I want to make sure I understand everything correctly instead of doing it half ass. Thanks again

you can't just boost your PR. You gain it naturally as you gain natural backlinks and build your website authority in the web

pr is largely irrelevant
it gets calculated once every 6 months, and it means just about nothing
(pr is a measure, from 1-10 of the chance of someone clicking 100 links at random on the internet ending up on your site)
back when i worked for them, godaddy's mainpage was pr2, yet they still outranked everyone for domain registration terms
(there's only a very few more difficult niches than that)

Have you ever tried hiring an expert to help you promote your site? it will help

PR was important in google before, but doesn't matter much nowadays. Patience is key to a high PR tho
