How to boost Alexa rank?

1. Create lots of pages on your site
2. Have people with Alexa toolbar visit you
I once did a bit of research on alexa rank and the factors that contribute. Aside from the fact that alexa rank is 99% useless and bullshit, I found out that the amount of pages on your site is one factor and different traffic signals another. The main metric in the traffic bucket comes from alexa toolbar, which is why webmaster oreiented sites have much higher alexa rank.
Traffic does nothing for your alexa rank, unless you are using alexa analytics (or whatever bs they offer).
Also if you are working for someone that is taking alexa rank to measure success, you are working for a dullard and might want to reconsider. Alexa rank is not only inaccurate it is a drunken cow shooting a broken rifle at a 1 inch target 40 miles away.... more likely to get people killed than hitting anything.
At this point alexa rank is about as useful as pagerank... absolutely useless, except for those that need to compensate for their small d*cks.

Alexa rank is depends on number of pages and different traffic sources.
who cares about alexa or even the Pagerank? If you have visitor, let say 5k /day from a couple of countries your alexa ranking will be high, but it comes from all around the world the ranking will be low. It just a way show that you have a traffic from different sources and not that you site suck, if you know what I mean. I dont care about alexa, focus on content and get backlinks.

Tired of seeing comments like this. Yes alexa rank is shit bit you see it's still important. I have seen people selling advertisements on their website for big money because their alexa rank is very very low. So many advertisers don't know that alexa ranks can be manipulated.
Good luck trying to convince them with your wp Jetpack site stats or Google analytics. They still want to see a lower alexa rank.
The situation is pretty much like PageRank. It's probably dead but it's still a very popular, convincing marketing term now.
