How to block competitors from viewing the webiste?

1. Yes don't promote the site.
2. Get competition IP addresses and blacklist them from your site.
3. Impossible is nothing

Hello Fellas,

Is there a way to block competitors from viewing the websites, so they don't steal any content or similat?
You might as well block everyone from coming to your site. If you can't identify your competitors(the person/individual) and somehow filter them out of the general population, you can't effectively block them in a way that won't harm your site.

Truth is we limit ourselves when we focus on what others do or say, competition or not.

Put in your best and you'll get amazing results over time. There's only one Mona Lisa but many variations.

So the only competition to focus on is you, doing your best and nothing less.

A paywall is an option for people to read the content.

Right click protection to try minimise theft of content.

paywall = good choice if not based on JS or the content is loaded from JS upon correct verification, we use CSS in JS these days so is not hard to do

right click - scrapers uses source code not the UI/Web Page UI

This is pointless and not worth doing. If someone really wants your content, they will have no issue getting it regardless of what you do (Assuming you want things public)

The problem is knowing your competitors from the general public that you want viewing your website.

As mentioned above, a paywall is an option but that removes your content from the public eyes completely.

Blacklist based on IP is also an option albeit a difficult one to implement.

I would not worry about people stealing your content. The internet is a big place and the odds of your competitors finding your website is minimal.

You can't limit this. Even if you limit a particular IP they can always view your site via VPN or proxy. And there are tons of platforms that can show a lot about your site and data so I don't think you can do much.

if you have resource to try that better spend building backlink etc.
you can try make your article harder like locking gateway etc still it will also hit normal user.
in the first place how you differentiate normal user and competitor?

It is difficult to determine who our competitors are and how they view the web

Search for your content and flag copy content in google serp pages and ask google to remove them.

Yes, there is a way - host your website in your local computer so that no one can view it :D :D :D

Jokes apart, my friend, it is impossible to protect your website from the eyes from the competitors. How will you identify them? It could be your neighbor or cousin or even a person from a far distant country.

Do not worry about getting your content stolen. It keeps happening all the time on the internet. There is no 100% full proof method that can prevent this from happening. Your best bet is to get your content indexed faster because once your content is indexed first by Google, then after that even if someone copies it, Google will give precedence to you only.

Don't waste your energy on looking for ways to block them, because it's impossible.
Just report them to Google.

You simply can't, it's just a part of the game,
They can easily use a random VPN/VPS to access the website if they already know it,

Focus in outranking them and expanding your website to a level they can't reach,

After all, SEO is a competitive game and you won't be able to hide away no matter what you do,
There are plenty of tools and ways to discover your niches, websites and spy on you,

Like any other business model, you'll have to keep grinding and expand your capabilities if you need to keep banking

There are many fun things you can do, but the core is that you want them to either not be able to see your site or to see a modified version of your site so that they think you have a terrible design, broken links and possibly a load time only a modem user would think was real.

You can check this too!

There are some scenarios that you can effectively do that.

Scenario A:

You know some information about your competition. Then you use that information to present fake content to them.

Scenario B:

Your desired traffic has some unique characteristic that your competitors don't fit in. For example, your traffic comes from ADS. Then you present the real content to the legitimate traffic and then a fake content version to everyone else.

Scenario A & B are both sides of the same coin. You need some information that separates bad actors from leads.

So how do you practically do this?

You use a cloaker. Effectively you want to segment GOOD traffic from BAD traffic, and that's exactly what cloaking is about. As long as you fall into one of those scenarios above, it's fine.

If your content is on WordPress, you can use StealthCloaker from the Marketplace. It has a WordPress plugin. You setup the GOOD/BAD rules on the web app, then connect the WP plugin to it & that's it, you're done (well, you also pay the monthly bill for it :p :anyway:) . If your content is not on WordPress, they have an API but then you'll have to get a programmer to integrate it to your site.

Well a competition can be just a visitator on your site .So you cant do that
Dont lose your energy on competition ,and instead search to get better and better in your business
