How to begin with SaaS?

Divide your project in blocks.
Data gathering, data filtering and optimizing, ML engine, testing and analyzing results,
Saas back-end and front-end...
Outsource to different people, so they don't have a clear view of the the entire project,
and slowly bring it all together.
Start with giving them a small job and see how it goes. If they perform well, more work.

Thats a pretty neat idea. So everybody knows what they should know and nothing more. Did I understand that correctly?

Yes, exactly, that's the idea!
Works good if the manager (you), has some (basic) knowledge of every part in the project.
And that seems to be the case :)

Did you forget to mention big data, cloud, agile and one of those new and shiny new buzzwords? Also docker and micoservice.. sheesh, how I hate Docker, Docker is the cancer of clueless management.

Friendly advice: You should never ever hire an Indian developer. The chance to find a good indian developer that is free (i.e. not working) is practically zero.

hahaha my friend,
We are already using Spark / Big data for our "Database".

I don´t care about nationality, he should be able to come to Germany. I will pay his flight. Coronavirus is a bit of headache for now

C'mon, then why you don't hire local developers? About India, I like the Indians, they are (usually) kind people. However, every good indian developers are already working for some consultant company. I worked with 3 different customers and we try to "offshoring the workforce" hiring indians and it was impossible to find a good one.

Anyways, why the CTO picked that technology?. I should have picked Oracle. Oracle is really expensive but the license is a kind-of-special (Oracle doesn't care if a small company is using its product) and it does practically everything out of the box. So, the administration is solved by putting a single DBA, instead of creating a huge platform with +5-10 technologies.

Also, (spoiler), big data doesn't work with UI (i.e. for you backend and front end). big data is usually for reporting and it's funny because it also lacks of tools for that. I have seen a lot of companies that rely on "big data" but finally they do everything with Postgresql


Anyways, Deutschland is in a big trouble with the Coronavirus, the Government (as usual) lies, a lot.

We Are using Spark for an other Venture. Not for this SaaS.

I didn't choose Oracle, because I don't have experience. I want to be able to follow what my devs are doing. I have experience in Rhel + Openstack.

How many members have your team?.

And if you have many members then why you are not separating the responsibilities? For example, one for the frontend, one for the backend, etc.

Also, what are you want to do? I am a bit curious about what you are doing (excluding anything that is confidential).

I treat everything very confidentially so I do not want to give any information online.

My team consists of 5 full-time employees. They work for my Company.
This SaaS project has to build with other people, since my Team is working on other Stuff.
 
Even if a guy from upwork signs an NDA, what is stopping him from going to his neighbor and say "Howdy, neighbor, let's split the profits 50/50, and keep everything in your name, don't mention me anywhere" and steal and run with my idea. I can never understand the use of NDA because it is so easy to bypass it. Anybody have any experience with this

On freelancer i had the last days only problem with them. Now have 500 usd there as balance cause 4 from 4 people couldnt deliver. MAKE SURE THE MILESTONES ARE 100% clear.

I am real bad at coding BUT looks iam better then the guys there. On UPwork i had some luck, but best way are boards, twitter ect.

After few years in these field i have gained some good friendships with awesome devs.

A lot of that comes from project posters cherry picking freelancers that bid to do the project for $80 when it should be like $300+. Dont expect quality from any freelance lowballing the fuck out of everyone. Left that platform for that exact same reason.
 
Don't compelete upfront payment, but you can give them part of upfront payment For the motivation.
