How to become authority site?

I have seen authority sites such as news sites get special values from the Google.

Let's suppose a particular news gets first rank by news channels and once the news is old my site start ranking on page one.

So what is the best way to make your website an authority website in the view of Google.

Keep adding god content on the website and cover all the topics related to the website niche.
 
Focus on sites in YOUR niche. To truly build your authority, you need to get sites in your niche to publish your guest post or participate in your roundups.

1) Produce a high quality site to the best of your ability no matter what ability level that might be. Just do the best that you can do.

2) Build a site that benefits a very specific target audience.

3) Build a site that visitors trust and are really happy with.

4) Build a site that search engines want to rank high.

5) Focus on two sources of traffic:
  1. free traffic from search engines using SEO
  2. referral traffic from site visitors telling their friends
6) Monetize the site in the most passive and most profitable way possible while not being offensive to the target audience.

7) Sharpen the saw over time by revisiting your core pages, homepage, etc. and improving how well they target your specific audience. Make small improvements that increase the value of your site in the eyes of that target audience.
 
You have to add ton of articles. You also have to give it some time. Like do this consistently for atleast an year.

I meant what you meant to participate in your roundups?
 
Authority sites will get more natural backlinks from various diversified sources and also those sites will have huge traffic so the trust of those sites will be more.
You have to develop your social platforms so after you share the news articles you will get more traffic and turns out to ranking. Good luck.
 
Good quality content along with guest posts from high authority sites.

Participate in round up -- > Build links within your niche*
 
Concentrating on quality content is the only way. Having your content and backlinks published on high authotity blogs in YOUR NICHE, as well as cultivating a large social media following to disseminate your content is the most effective technique that we have.
 
Get to know your shit. When your done with that do it again & again. Good is not good enough anymore if you want to be rank 1. Have a great day wish ya the best
 
its a combination of excellent information people will love to share on their social accounts, good amount of backlinks and some luck.
 
Use a brandable domain name, Cover every topic in your niche, Regularly update content, Make Good backlink profile and wait.
 
I think almost everyone wants to build an authority site, it's much better to be in that position.
You've got some great advice in this thread, btw. And I'd add being genuine and making visitors happy is what is expected.

You need high-quality content, strong backlinks. Also, you should add new content often.
